This had a white inner envelope with the scratch off key.Ĭould it be possible that the blue one was for a Software Assurance installation? I ran a VAMT (Volume activation tool) and it confirmed the installation was RETAIL.So maybe I was sent a non OEM? But the first set of DVDs had an inner blue envelope with the code on the front (as seen in the picture earlier) which contained the DVD. White outer with the red sticky tape on both the original and the replacement.
Did it come in a white envelope that you had to peel open? That's how all OEM DVDs are shipped these days? The silver stuff should only be scrapped off by the end user - the only reason it would have been scraped is to get to the code. Glad you got it working but something is wrong with that vendor. Supplier shipped out two replacement OEM DVDs and these were different, the key had the silver scrape off on it and the envelope was white.
